Three Days Left in the Premier League's Nine-Figure Summer
The 2026 transfer window closes Tuesday at 11pm UK time, capping a summer that produced three British deals of £100m or more.
The Premier League's summer transfer window closes at 11pm UK time (6pm ET) on Tuesday, September 1, per NBC Sports — which means the final weekend of a spending spree unlike any in recent memory is here.
The nine-figure club
According to Sky Sports' completed-deals tracker, this window has already produced three £100m-plus transfers between English clubs: Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa to Chelsea for £117m, Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for £116m, and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle to Tottenham for £100m.
Spurs' summer did not stop there — Sky Sports also lists Savio arriving from Manchester City for £85m and Mateus Fernandes from West Ham for the same fee.
Newcastle's teardown
The most striking thread is on Tyneside. Newcastle sold both halves of their midfield engine room: Tonali to Tottenham and Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal for a reported £75m, per Sky Sports. Elsewhere, Carlos Baleba moved from Brighton to Manchester United for £70m and Nicolas Jackson left Chelsea for Aston Villa at £65m.
And an era formally ended: Mohamed Salah departed Liverpool and signed a two-year deal with Turkish side Trabzonspor, confirmed in early August by Al Jazeera.
What to watch before Tuesday
Clubs that agree terms late can file a deal sheet to buy extra time for paperwork, so expect confirmations to trickle past the 11pm cutoff. The unresolved question is whether Newcastle reinvest their windfall before the door shuts — roughly £175m came in for Tonali and Guimaraes alone, per Sky Sports' figures, and deadline day has a way of finding teams holding cash.
