Last Call for LA28 Ticket Drop 2: Window Closes Thursday

The second sale for Los Angeles 2028 Olympic tickets ends August 20, and after a record-setting first drop, this is the cheapest guaranteed path in for two more years.

If an email from LA28 landed in your inbox earlier this month, the clock is running. Drop 2, the second public sale of Los Angeles 2028 Olympic tickets, opened August 10 and closes August 20 — this Thursday.

How the window works

There is no general queue. Fans who registered for the ticket draw by the July 22 deadline were entered, and those selected received emails on August 6-7 with an assigned purchase slot — each slot lasts 48 hours, with a 30-minute cart hold once you start buying. Registration did not guarantee selection, and the drop covers all Olympic sports at prices from $28 to over $1,000 depending on sport and seat.

The caps are unchanged from Drop 1: 12 Olympic tickets per person overall, a separate allowance of 12 for the football (soccer) tournament, and a maximum of four for each ceremony.

Why demand is real

The first drop, back in April, sold more than 4 million tickets across 85 countries and all 50 U.S. states. It also produced a first in Olympic history: women's sessions outsold men's, 93 percent to 88 percent sell-through. The new LA28 sports — flag football, lacrosse, softball and squash — sold out their available inventory entirely, and artistic gymnastics moved fastest of all. Roughly 500,000 of the $28 tickets went to residents of Los Angeles and Oklahoma City, the two host regions.

If you miss it

This is not the last chance, just the last one for a while. LA28 has said additional drops will follow, pre-registered fans are automatically included in future draws, and Paralympic tickets plus an official resale program arrive in 2027. But with each drop, the remaining inventory gets thinner — and the Games, which open July 14, 2028, get closer.
